How to apply a poultice to treat a hoof abscess. At AVL we use poultices to help draw out and drain a hoot abscess as well as provide the horse a bit of comfort. The best thing for a hoof abscess is gentle movement to encourage it to burst and drain so Bob was removed from the herd into one of our medical pens.
