Apr 17, 2024 · To communicate the Latter-day Saints’ faith in Jesus Christ, the Church commissioned a replica of Bertel Thorvaldsen’s original sculpture of Christ known to Latter-day Saints as the Christus statue. This marble replica was placed on Temple Square in the 1960s and is on display in the North Visitors’ Center.
