One of the positions that the Tulane Green Wave had to focus on replenishing the depth chart for after the season was quarterback. Their starter in 2024, redshirt freshman Darian Mensah, put his name into the transfer portal early in the process.

The Tulane Green Wave had a remarkable 2024 season under head coach Jon Sumrall and finished the regular season with a 9-3 record. They also became eligible for the American Athletic Conference Championship Game.

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane quarterback Ty Thompson withdrew his name from the transfer portal on Tuesday, according to a source. Thompson has one year of eligibility remaining. He originally entered the portal December 11th, and still started for the Green Wave in the team’s 33-8 loss to Florida in the Gasparilla Bowl.

The Tulane Green Wave are not yet finished with their efforts in the transfer portal, as they have attracted another notable quarterback.

Tulane coach Jon Sumrall said he wanted two quarterbacks with plenty of starting experience and a third with college playing experience out of the transfer portal, and that is exactly what he has gotten with the addition of a former Ball State starter on Sunday.
