The number of National Guard troops in Washington, D.C., increased again on Tuesday as a sixth Republican-led state sent some of its soldiers to the nation's capital as part of the president's activation to fight what he claims is rising crime in the city.

An estimated 1,900 troops are being deployed in D.C. More than half are coming from Republican-led states. Besides Union Station, they've mostly been spotted around downtown areas, including the National Mall and Metro stops.

The accident involved a military all-terrain vehicle and a civilian vehicle. The civilian was extricated and moved to a hospital with minor injuries.

Public spaces and private ones with permission are usually fair game; if accused of obstruction, backing off is best.
