It seems like a football lifetime ago when Daniel Jones was thought to have taken a big step forward by emerging as a capable dual-threat quarterback. A five-year New York Giants playoff drought ended in 2022 and a wild-card game was won against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings went the same route with Darnold in 2024, signing him to a one-year, $10 million contract to kick the season off as rookie QB J.J. McCarthy found his footing. Darnold has excelled relatively, leading the team to a 7-2 record and throwing for 2,141 yards, 17 TDs and 10 interceptions thus far.

ESPN's Adam Schefter admitted he wouldn't be surprised if the Giants look for a new quarterback to replace Daniel Jones, who has really had a tough season. The NFL reporter also thinks Jones's time in New York is already done before the 2024 season ends.
