Former U of M soccer player killed, older brother charged with murder
PRINCETON, N.J. (WILX) - A former University of Michigan soccer player was killed Saturday in an apartment in Princeton, New Jersey. 27-year-old Joseph Hertgen was found dead in the apartment with signs of blunt force trauma and lacerations, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

Matthew Hertgen, of Princeton, was charged with the first-degree murder of 26-year-old Joseph Hertgen, as well as animal cruelty and weapons offenses related to possession of a knife and a golf club, police said.
