The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast more rain through the day, predicting a “generally cloudy sky with moderate rain.” Similar weather is expected to continue on Wednesday, July 23, while light showers are likely on Thursday.

The orange alert, which signals intense rainfall, has been issued for districts like Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, and Siddipet, among others. The yellow alert, which suggests the chance of moderate to heavy showers, is in place for areas like Hyderabad, Khammam, Nalgonda, Medchal Malkajgiri, and Mahabubnagar.

We continue with First Warn Weather Days Tuesday through Thursday, as weather this week remains hazardous as times. We have two concerns; the heat and another return of heavy rain. The heat will be the most urgent concern as we head into Tuesday, and it will linger into Wednesday and Thursday.

Chandigarh is set to receive moderate to heavy rain on Tuesday morning, with all areas likely to be affected in the next few hours. Authorities have warned of possible waterlogging in low-lying zones and advised caution during peak travel hours.

In Hyderabad and its neighbourhood, moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) is very likely over the next 48 hours, particularly in the evening and night. Surface winds are expected to be westerlies or north-westerlies with speeds around 6–10 kmph.

Mumbai is on orange alert today as heavy rain disrupts daily life, leading to waterlogging, flight delays, and slowed local train services. Authorities have urged residents to avoid low-lying areas and stay updated on transport advisories.
