Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum says she hopes to speak with U.S. President Donald Trump now that he has announced plans to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada starting Tuesday.

President Donald Trump said Thursday that tariffs on goods from Canada and Mexico will increase sharply on March 4 and, in an unexpected move, also announced an additional 10 percent tax on Chinese goods taking effect then.
