It is never too early to lock up one of your own and the Washington Capitals have done just that. The Capitals and goaltender Logan Thompson have come to terms on a new contract extension.

Logan Thompson signed a six-year, $35.1 million contract with the Washington Capitals on Monday. It has an average annual value of $5.85 million. The 27-year-old goalie is in his first season with the Capitals after he was acquired in a trade with the Vegas Golden Knights on June 29 for third-round picks in the 2024 and 2025 NHL Drafts.
