ANN ARBOR, Mich. — It turns out it was a smart move for Michigan football to have its biggest recruiting weekend in Week 4 against new Big Ten rival (and old Pac-12 rival) USC. Because not only did the Wolverines manage to upset the No. 11 Trojans, but the prospects in attendance got to witness an unparalleled atmosphere.

Both of Michigan’s starting inside linebackers are transfers. Jaishawn Barham, ranked No. 119 in the 2022 class, arrived this offseason from Maryland, while Ernest Hausmann, a former three-star, is in his second year with the Wolverines. They are tied for the team lead with 14 tackles apiece.

With key prospects watching, a strong performance against Michigan could enhance USC's recruiting efforts for the future.
