On Saturday, local communities across the country and southwest Virginia participated in the Drug Enforcement Administration's National Drug Take Back Day.

Every National Drug Take Back Day, the DEA, the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio and local law enforcement agencies collect tablets, capsules, patches and other forms of prescription drugs. Syringes, sharps and any illicit drugs will not be accepted. Any liquid medications should be sealed in their original container to be accepted.
