A severe weather threat is moving to the Southeast and East Coast on Sunday after deadly tornado-spawning storms pummeled Texas and Mississippi, tearing through homes and leaving at least two people dead.

A severe weather system will likely impact the Southeast and East Coast on Sunday, with tornadoes and thunderstorms expected in several states, according to the National Weather Service, a day after at least two people were killed by tornadoes in Texas and Mississippi.

The National Weather Service said it confirmed several tornadoes had touched down outside of Houston on Saturday, as two people died. More severe weather is expected across the U.S. on Sunday.
