Almost 5,000 National Guard troops and Marines have been assigned to Los Angeles — drawing stiff rebukes from state officials.

President Donald Trump has deployed California National Guard troops to Los Angeles to respond to immigration protests, over the objections of California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

The lawsuit will seek to set aside the president’s order calling up troops in response to protests that spread over the weekend.
