NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — French far-right leader Jordan Bardella on Friday canceled his planned remarks here at the Conservative Political Action Conference after Steve Bannon, the former adviser to President Donald Trump who is now a popular conservative podcast host, made a hand gesture that some said appeared to be a Nazi salute.

Bardella announced his withdrawal from the conference after claiming Bannon made a "gesture referring to Nazi ideology" during a speech on Thursday. Bannon was accused of giving a Nazi salute after he extended his right arm out with palm facing out after his address, though he has denied the claim.

Jordan Bardella, now 29, became RN leader in 2022, taking over from Marine Le Pen. He skipped the meeting after Steve Bannon was accused of making a gesture reminiscent of a Nazi salute.

The leader of a far-right political party in France said he would not address as planned the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) after Steve Bannon, a close ally to President Trump,

"Fight, fight, fight!" shouted Steve Bannon at the conservative CPAC conference near Washington. The right-wing podcaster and former White House strategist then performed what appeared to be a Nazi salute,
