The family is asking the Illinois State Police to take over the investigation as their attorney says the Chicago Police Department’s story of what happened doesn’t “pass the smell test.”

Mourners, including police officials from across the state, started to arrive before noon at Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park for the funeral of Chicago police Officer Krystal Rivera.
