Six Flags Great Adventure’s record-breaking ride, Kingda Ka, is officially being retired nearly two decades after it opened in 2005

Six Flags announced it shut down the Kingda Ka and Green Lantern roller coasters to make way for two new rides including The Flash coaster.

Six Flags is investing $1 billion for park improvements over the next two years. A new roller coaster is to replace two rides in the Arlington park.
