SpaceX has received approval from the U.S Federal Aviation Administration for Flight 8 of its Starship megarocket, which is targeted for Monday (March 3).

For the second time in seven weeks, a major explosion aboard a SpaceX rocket sent planes scrambling for safety after debris was spotted raining down over the southwest Atlantic on Thursday evening.

SpaceX's Starship rocket exploded over the Atlantic Ocean on March 6, with eyewitness footage from the Bahamas capturing fiery debris falling from the sky.

The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said on Friday that the previous day's explosion of a SpaceX Starship spacecraft disrupted about 240 flights, with space debris concerns requiring more than two dozen of those planes to divert.
