If you told Dallas Cowboys fans that their team would let Mike McCarthy leave and then pick Brian Schottenheimer as the new head coach, they might think you’re joking.

The Dallas Cowboys have begun their search for a head coach with interviews set up with a few candidates now, but how could a decision in favor of one target potentially impact the rival San Francisco 49ers?

The Cowboys are likely to eventually add Jason Witten to the coaching staff, an idea endorsed by DeMarcus Ware - who would also like a piece of the action here inside The Star.
