The Winnipeg Jets have acquired veteran defenceman Luke Schenn from the Pittsburgh Penguins for two draft picks ahead of Friday's NHL trade deadline.

NHL Draft is still months away, the Pittsburgh Penguins are positioned, on paper, to be very busy from June 27-28 in Los Angeles. The same could be said of the 2026 and 2027 drafts, as in the upcoming three years,

The Penguins also acquired a 2026 second-round draft pick and a 2027 fourth-round draft pick from the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for defenseman Luke Schenn, who himself was recently traded to Pittsburgh in a deal with the Nashville Predators with forward Tommy Novak on Wednesday for forward Michael Bunting and a fourth-round pick in the 2026 draft.
