After 11 seasons with the Phoenix Mercury, Brittney Griner left in free agency to join the Atlanta Dream. New teammate Allisha Gray reacted to the news of Griner's decision which comes on the heels of Mercury's acquisition of Alyssa Thomas from the Connecticut Sun.

Brittney Griner has agreed to a one-year deal with the Atlanta Dream, ending her tenure with the Phoenix Mercury after 11 seasons, ESPN reported.

Landing Brittney Griner was a big swing for the franchise, which was was “pounding the pavement" to get better in free agency.”

When Brittney Griner and Kevin Durant crossed paths in 2023, it sparked a special moment. The former Phoenix Mercury center and current Phoenix Suns forward shared that moment ahead of Durant's first game in Phoenix. After spending the previous four seasons with the Brooklyn Nets, he was traded to the Suns.
