Friday will feature sunshine once again as temperatures manage to warm a little more and peak in the low to middle 40s Friday afternoon. The dry weather will come to an end overnight Friday into Saturday morning as a warm front approaches the region from the southwest.

“A big warming trend is on the way for Saturday and Sunday, so any freezing rain early Saturday morning should change over to all rain quickly after sunrise,” the weather service said early Thursday. “Off and on periods of rain are possible through the rest of the weekend.”

Our next weather system brings a chance of occasional showers on Saturday, and potentially more potent rains at some point on Sunday.

Parts of New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Massachusetts could see freezing rain between Friday and Saturday nights, but these chances drop closer to the coast.
