President Donald Trump has signaled that his Vice President, JD Vance, could be the future face of the Republican Party in 2028.

When asked by journalists, Donald Trump named Vice President JD Vance as his successor. Until now, the US president had not ruled out running for office himself in the 2028 elections, even though this would violate the Constitution.

A dinner scheduled Wednesday night at Vice President JD Vance’s residence was seen as an opportunity for Trump administration officials to realign amid the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein scandal, though it’s now in flux.

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel have been invited to the dinner, the source added.News of the dinner was first reported by CNN.

“I also think we have incredible people, some of the people on the stage right here,” Trump said Tuesday, while he stood near Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Attorney General Pam Bondi, among others. “So it’s too early, obviously, to talk about it, but certainly he’s doing a great job, and he would be probably favored at this point.”

While President Donald Trump has previously publicly floated both JD Vance and Marco Rubio as potential heirs, he has so far refused to anoint a successor ahead of the 2028 campaign.
