U.S. stocks finished higher Friday, with the S&P 500 scoring a fifth straight record closing peak. All three major U.S. equities benchmarks saw weekly gains.

Wall Street futures were largely unchanged on Friday, as investors caught their breath after record closes for the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq and looked for clarity on U.S. trade talks before the August 1 tariff deadline.

The indices are all poised to finish the week with gains, with the Dow and Nasdaq both set for nearly a 1% weekly advance, while the S&P 500 has risen about 1.1% so far this week.
