Police say a suspect was arrested in Paramus, New Jersey, in the shooting that critically injured a Philadelphia school safety officer at the end of June.

The chase started on Roosevelt Boulevard near Bustleton Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia and then ended under the Platt Bridge in South Philly.

Ariza Giansteban, 28, was arrested in Paramus and awaits extradition to Philadelphia for his involvement in the June shooting of an on-duty Philly school safety officer.

Authorities say three people were killed and 10 others injured in a shooting. Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel says the three people who died in the shooting early Monday were adults, and two of the wounded are juveniles.

The shooting was one of several episodes of gun and knife violence in the city over the Fourth of July weekend.

Negotiations are set to continue on Tuesday between District Council 33 and the Parker administration, a union spokesperson told CBS News Philadelphia.
