The FBI has arrested a Milwaukee judge accused of helping a man evade immigration authorities. Friday's arrest escalates a clash between the Trump administration and local authorities over the president’s sweeping immigration crackdown.

Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan was elected in 2016. She spent much of her earlier career working on behalf of low-income people and marginalized groups.

A federal judge on Friday temporarily blocked the administration of President Donald Trump from stripping hundreds of thousands of federal employees of the ability to unionize and collectively bargain over working conditions.

The judge suggested during a hearing Wednesday that the administration's moves appear targeted toward unions that have opposed his agenda.
