Wells Enterprises, the company that produces Blue Bunny and Halo Top ice creams, issued the voluntary recall April 25.

LE MARS, Iowa — An Iowa-based ice cream manufacturer has recalled nearly 18,000 containers of ice cream and frozen yogurt over concerns they could contain pieces of plastic. Wells Enterprises issued the voluntary recall last month, according to recently released information from the Food and Drug Administration.

More than 16,000 gallons of ice cream and frozen yogurt have been recalled by Wells Enterprises/Wells Dairy due to potential plastic contamination.
