A man is charged after a police chase that started with a tip in Batavia, Illinois, ended in a crash in Chicago overnight Monday.The Kane County Sheriff's Office said shortly before 1 a.m., their officers got a tip about a gray Infiniti with no license plate speeding south on Washington Street at Fabyan Parkway.

Adrian Rucker, a 25-year-old man from Freeport, Illinois, is scheduled to appear in court on several felonies, including armed violence, illegal gun possession, and illegal drug possession, in relation to the accidental shooting death of Chicago police officer Krystal Rivera.

The partner was the only person who fired a weapon, and the “gunfire unintentionally struck Officer Rivera,” city police said in a statement Friday. An autopsy showed she was shot in the back.
