Alex Bregman was originally in the Red Sox’ batting order for Wednesday’s rubber match against the Twins. But a corrected lineup, sent out 27 minutes after the original, has the slugging third baseman sitting after all.

Bregman is not injured. Rather, Red Sox manager Alex Cora has decided to give the third baseman two consecutive days of rest when you combine Thursday's team off day. Abraham Toro will handle the hot corner and bat second Wednesday.
