Six Flags Magic Mountain will extend its lead as the Roller Coaster Capital of the World when the Valencia amusement park adds a 21st coaster to its record-setting lineup while continuing to fend off challenges by rivals edging ever closer to the title.

Six Flags Magic Mountain will add to its expansive roller coaster line-up with the debut of a new “first of its kind” coaster in 2026. Magic Mountain currently has 20 roller coasters, more than any other theme park worldwide.

Six Flags is investing $1 billion for park improvements over the next two years. A new roller coaster is to replace two rides in the Arlington park.

The largest amusement park operator in North America, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, is spending $1 billion over the next two years at its 42 parks. The plan is to spend half a billion dollars in 2025 and 2026 to add new rides,

La Vibora, the longtime bobsled-style coaster, opened in 1986. El Diablo, a giga loop coaster, was in operation since 2019.
