Plans calls for Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair to register up to 60 aircraft on its Maltese subsidiary’s AOC.

Ryanair has today agreed to establish a Malta-based carrier to grow its presence on the island and access to North Africa, adding another subsidiary to its group of airlines.

Ryanair said it would put its six Malta-based Boeing 737s onto the Malta Air registry. It plans to grow the fleet to 10 within three years.

The Irish low-cost carrier operates the largest fleet among the three budget airlines, with over 600 aircraft.
