Rainfall gave way to snowfall overnight across portions of Iowa. Strong winds hammered the state throughout the day on Wednesday, leading to blizzard conditions and dangerous winter road conditions.
Those gusty winds are also producing wind chills below zero across the state, and the frigid conditions will remain locked in place all day. Winds will finally drop off this afternoon.
