With Jorg Bergmeister at the wheel, Porsche beat the Dodge Viper ACR's record by 10 seconds. As promised, Porsche set a new Nürburgring lap record for manual-transmission cars with the new 911 GT3. Factory driver Jorg Bergmeister managed to set a lap time of 6:56.
