On a quest to find the best breakfast, I ordered the same thing at Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans. Bob Evans had the better overall meal — the ham had great flavor, and the gravy had a hint of spice.

There’s a hearty breakfast. And then there’s the oversized, overstuffed, incredibly filling four-egg omelets at Hometown Diner, a friendly spot serving hearty, homestyle fare at reasonable prices.
