A family from Long Island, who owns a resort in Jamaica, is racing against time to prepare for Hurricane Melissa, a storm forecasted to have a catastrophic impact on the Caribbean island.

Hurricane Melissa left a trail of destruction as it moved across Jamaica, seen for the first time from space in new satellite images obtained from Vantor.

“Everything has been washed away by floodwaters, and so the situation is, in fact, very bad,” he said, adding that there was “an urgent need for support.”
