The Michigan State University Board of Trustees on Friday approved moving forward on a plan that will bring a new $150 million stadium, hotel and other new developments to its East Lansing campus.

The Spartan Gateway District on the East Lansing campus will include a 6,000-seat sports arena, a hotel and retail space.
