An owner and their dog were rescued by Massachusetts firefighters after they both fell into Lake Waban on Sunday.

The community is off Edinburgh Parkway, in the Hickory area. The dog had gotten away from its owner and wandered onto the ice, police said. The ice broke, and the dog fell in and drowned.
