Ben & Jerry’s has sued its parent company Unilever accusing it of silencing the ice cream maker from making statements in support of Palestinians in the war in Gaza.

Ben and Jerry's has accused their parent company, Unilever, of violating the conditions of a settlement agreement from 2022 and "censoring" the company.

Elsewhere in the lawsuit, Ben & Jerry’s says its independent board was also silenced by Unilever. Unilever’s head of ice cream, Peter ter Kulve, said he was worried about the “continued perception of anti-Semitism” in connection to the brand’s stance on Gaza, per the suit.
