The Boston Red Sox should make it back to the playoffs in 2025 and the addition of former Houston Astros All-Star Alex Bregman certainly should help with this.

Since the Boston Red Sox signed Alex Bregman, the hot corner has been a hot topic in Fort Myers, Florida. It seems like everyone has an opinion on whether or not it should be Bregman or Rafael Devers at third base for the Red Sox this season.

When Rafael Devers signed an 11-year extension with the Red Sox in 2023, he believed it came with the understanding he would be the team’s third baseman for the long term. Just two years into that deal, the Red Sox now have a better defensive third baseman on the roster in the newly signed Alex Bregman.

The Red Sox's injury list includes catcher Connor Wong, outfielder Jarren Duran, infielder Romy Gonzalez, starting pitchers Brayan Bello and Lucas Giolito, and relievers Bryan Mata, Adam Ottavino and Garrett Whitlock, according to Sean McAdam of MassLive.

Bregman is also adjusting well to his new organization. Other players have been wowed by his eternal quest for betterment, especially top prospects Roman Anthony, Marcelo Mayer, and Kristian Campbell, who were stunned when the veteran star opted to sit with them at lunch and spend two hours chatting with them on his first day in camp.
