Discount carrier Spirit Airlines said on Monday that its CEO has stepped down as part of a rebranding weeks after the company emerged from bankruptcy.

Spirit Airlines ( OTC:SAVEQ) CEO Ted Christie is stepping down from the company and the board effective April 7, one month after the airline emerged from bankruptcy. The board is in the process of appointing a permanent replacement. On an interim basis, an Office of the President has been formed to lead the company until a new CEO is appointed.

Spirit Airlines on Thursday appointed Dave Davis as its new chief executive officer, weeks after the U.S. discount carrier emerged from bankruptcy and reconstituted its board.
