The woman convicted of killing Grammy Award winning Selena Quintanilla has filed for parole nearly three decades after the murder. Yolanda Saldívar, who was the 23-year-old's business associate and president of her fan club, killed Quintanilla on March 31, 1995, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Saldívar was president of the singer’s fan club and the manager of two of her clothing boutiques. She shot and killed Quintanilla Pérez at a Days Inn motel in Corpus Christi, Texas, on Mar. 31, 1995. The “Como La Flor” singer was 23.

The woman serving a life sentence for the 1995 shooting death of music star Selena will have her case reviewed by the parole board in March.
