A judge has temporarily ordered Oakland International Airport in California to stop using the name "San Francisco Bay Oakland International Airport" as the cities' legal battle plays out.

By Blake Brittain A U.S. judge on Tuesday temporarily blocked the Port of Oakland from using "San Francisco" in the Oakland airport's name, finding the name change would likely cause consumer confusion and harm the city of San Francisco.

The two cities have been at odds since this spring, when the Port of Oakland announced it was adding “San Francisco Bay” to the name of the airport as part of a strategy to boost passenger traffic by emphasizing the city’s geographic place in the San Francisco Bay Area.
