Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday criticised the Congress-National Conference alliance after the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly passed a resolution calling for the restoration of the special status the erstwhile state had under Article 370 of the Constitution. The Assembly had passed the resolution on Wednesday.

The resolution opposing the revocation of Article 370 and restoring the special status of Jammu and Kashmir was passed on Wednesday by a voice vote, with all parties barring the BJP supporting it.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a rally in Maharashtra, emphasized that the removal of Article 370 has led to a decline in terrorism and strengthened democracy in Jammu and Kashmir. He criticized the Congress party for supporting a resolution in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly demanding the restoration of Article 370,
