Surveillance footage captured an attempted murder, according to charges unsealed Sunday: A man wearing a mask, a blue shirt and police-style tactical vest with a badge knocked on a door in Champlin and announced himself as a police officer. He then entered the house and shot Minnesota Sen. John Hoffman and his wife.

Police are investigating two shootings targeting elected officials in Minnesota that could possibly be connected, officials said.

According to numerous reports, both lawmakers were shot at their homes and authorities believe the shooter was impersonating law enforcement.

Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman, State Sen. John Hoffman and their spouses were all shot early Saturday in targeted attacks.

Vance Boelter remains at large as the manhunt continues. Officials warn people not to approach him if he's spotted.
