The Boston Celtics were able to pull off a dominant Game 5 win over the New York Knicks on Wednesday night to keep their season alive. Even without superstar forward Jayson Tatum, who went down with a torn Achilles in Game 4, the Celtics looked the part of a team with championship experience.

The Celtics, playing without injured star Jayson Tatum, drained 22 three-pointers to notch their first win at home in the best-of-seven matchup. The Knicks still lead, 3-2. Jaylen Brown had a double-double of 26 points and 12 assists to lead Boston, while Josh Hart finished with 24 points and seven rebounds for New York.

The Celtics had no easy fix to replace Jayson Tatum entering their do-or-die Game 5 matchup against the Knicks on Wednesday night. Joe Mazzulla began the game by reinserting Kristaps Porzingis into the starting five in place of Tatum despite the big man’s ineffective play for much of the series due to illness.
The Knicks went all-in this past offseason by adding Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges. Brunson, Towns, Bridges, OG Anunoby and Josh Hart are all under contract for at least next season, so the team should look very similar moving forward.
