Jaylen Brown will miss the Boston Celtics’ game at Minnesota on Thursday night with a strained right shoulder.

Brown missed Thursday’s game against the Timberwolves because of a shoulder strain he suffered in Tuesday’s 125-71 win over the Raptors at TD Garden.

Jaylen Brown picked up a new injury during the Celtics’ New Year’s Eve rout of the Toronto Raptors. Brown appeared to injure his right shoulder early in the 125-71 victory at TD Garden. After head coach Joe Mazzulla lifted his starters at the start of the fourth quarter, a team trainer wrapped the shoulder in a large ice pack.

The Celtics won 107-105 against the Timberwolves on November 24, their last meeting. After a two-game skid, the Celtics bounced back with a blowout win against the Pacers. After the Pacers handed Boston a 123-114 loss on Sunday, the Celtics bounced back with their second blowout win in three games.

The Celtics will start the new year with a four-game road trip, kicking off with a visit to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves Thursday. Boston is coming off a 54-point New Year’s Eve victory against the Raptors, their second-largest margin of victory in team history.
