The Syrian military and the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces have announced sweeping gains against the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) in the last of its major hideouts in eastern Syria.
Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with the new incoming commander of the anti-ISIS mission. The meeting took place after the new commander, Brig. Gen. Kevin J.
