Workers at local food banks are growing concerned due to what they say is a cut in government funding. That cut could lead to less food being given to people in need. Channel 9 reporter Ken Lemon spoke with those workers who said they are bracing for a drop in food at a time when the need is only getting greater.

Unfortunately, the food bank is being hit with extensive cuts. This includes around $2 million worth of meat, dairy and canned goods, more than $400,000 of locally sourced goods and nearly $20,000 worth of food for their summer feeding program.

A food bank which provides thousands of free meals to struggling families each week said it had been forced to make most of its staff redundant due to a funding shortage. King's Foodbank, which operates out of King’s Church in Darlington and is funded by donations,
