Several senior FBI officials have been told to leave the agency or expect to be fired next week, according to multiple news reports Thursday, as President Donald Trump ’s administration executes his long-touted plans to overhaul the federal government.

The officials reportedly included executive assistant directors and top agents in field offices, including some who oversee national security and criminal investigations and were promoted by former FBI Director Christopher Wray.

These senior officials at FBI headquarters were responsible for overseeing top priorities for the bureau, including national security, criminal and cyber issues, the sources said.
