A man motivated by anti-government ideology has been jailed for life for attempting to murder an officer during an attack on a police station in South Wales.

A man who tried to murder a police officer while armed with Molotov cocktails has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 22 years. Alexander Dighton, 28 from Pontyclun, Rhondda Cynon Taf, was wearing body armour when he carried out the attack outside Talbot Green police station in January.

Alexander Dighton, 28, used Molotov cocktails and a hatchet to attack officers outside Talbot Green police station in South Wales. He knocked one officer unconscious and stabbed another in the leg during the attack in Rhondda Cynon Taf on January 31.
