Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record recently noted that Vivas could be playing his way into a larger role. The lefty-hitting infielder doesn’t have the prospect pedigree of Peraza, but he’s bringing exactly what the Yankees need: contact, poise, and production.

If the game ends up postponed, it could create a real scheduling bind for the teams as this is the Rangers’ only scheduled trip to Yankee Stadium. The obvious choice for rescheduling would be Sept. 11, an off day for the Rangers ahead of a series at the New York Mets, but the Yankees are scheduled to play that day against Detroit.
